With the cost of fuel rising rapidly it is essential for people to improve the efficiency of their homes in order to save money on their energy bills.
Unfortunately a lot of people residing in Perth and Kinross are living in fuel poverty, as they are unable to afford to keep their home adequately heated.
There are various reasons for this, including the fact that many homes in Powys are not connected to the mains gas network and so have to rely on more expensive fuels such as Oil, Coal, LPG or Electric; plus a lot of the properties are old stone built cottages and houses which can be very cold and draughty.

Heat Pump Grants
To put it simply, air source heat pump grants give homeowners the benefit of paying for the installation of air source heat pump systems in their home, as long as they are eligible.
The Government’s ECO Scheme for air source heat pumps applies across England, Scotland and Wales. At a glance, the underlying criteria requires you to be a homeowner and receive at least one of the ECO Scheme qualifying State Benefits, Other Allowances or State Benefits – in order to qualify. These have been explained in detail further down the article.
Therefore, any air source heat pump grants acquired through the Government’s ECO Scheme will help with all upfront costs in the installation of the aforementioned. In some cases, the air source heat pump ECO grant may not cover ALL costs of installation, in which case, homeowners must cover the remaining cost.
Storage Heater Grants
ECO3 funding offers solar panel grants to qualifying homeowners and tenants across the UK to reduce their energy bills and carbon footprint, making their home more energy efficient.

The government’s ECO scheme for providing solar panel grants is currently backed by SSE, Scottish Power, E.ON, Npower, EDF Energy and British Gas.
